Here comes the bride!

As previously reported, season-13 Bachelor couple Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney tied the knot in an oceanside ceremony at the stunning Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. In these new photos, Malaney, 25, shines in a strapless Monique Lhuillier gown and Neil Lane jewels as Mesnick 33,  and his son Ty, 5, (plus the wedding’s officiant) look on.

The only hitch? It started raining cats and dogs in the middle of the ceremony! (Appropriately enough, the bride walked down the aisle to a live rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”)

An attendee tells UsMagazine.com that Mesnick and Malaney took the wet weather in stride, laughing as they got soaked.  Among the guests: Trista and Ryan Sutter, Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski, Charlie O’Connell.

Although the couple were initially mired in controversy (Mesnick dumped final-rose recipient Melissa Rycroft on-air in order to be with Malaney), the lead-up to their engagement was pure comedy, Mesnick told Us last fall.

Carefully planning a romantic proposal at the Queenstown, New Zealand lodge where they “fell in love” on the show, Mesnick hid the ring in his pocket. (”I was worried Molly would find the ring in the luggage,” he explains.)

He popped the 1.2-carat ring into her champagne glass and had set a camera to photograph the big-question moment. “The first time, the camera didn’t go off at the right time. I was like “S**t!” he told Us.

“Then she tried to take my glass, and I was like, ‘No, take this one.” We did it again and the flash went off exactly as she saw the ring.”

“It was perfect,” Malaney told Us.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Hollywood’s biggest stars put on a mostly amazing red carpet show at Sunday night’s Oscars held at the Kodak Theatre.

Among the celebs making the best Oscar fashion choices were young stars Miley Cyrus, Kristen Stewart and Anna Kendrick. Others who sparkled on the red carpet included Carey Mulligan, Elizabeth Banks, Queen Latifah, Cameron Diaz, Meryl Streep, Sigourney Weaver and Best Actress winner Sandra Bullock.

Of course, there are always some misses on the red carpet and this year was no exception. Kate Winslet, Sarah Jessica Parker and Nicole Richie were among the worst dressed picks at last night’s 82nd Oscar ceremony.

The Hurt Locker won six times, including Best Picture, to highlight the 82nd annual Academy Awards ceremony. The Iraq war drama also earned Best Director honors for Kathryn Bigelow, who became the first woman in Oscar history to win Hollywood’s top prize for filmmakers.

A man contracts a strange virus, and he turns out to be the key to understanding the aliens weaponry. The only place the man can hide is in District 9.

Nick Hornby – An Education – A coming-of-age story set in the 1960’s about a teenage girl who lives in the suburbs of London. Her life is turned into a dream when a charming playboy nearly twice her age shows up and changes her life forever.

Jesse Armstrong, Simon Blackwell, Armando Iannucci, Tony Roche – In the Loop – A foul-mouthed comedy that draws on events to create a world that is terrifyingly familiar: The US President and UK Prime Minister fancy a war, but not everyone agrees that war is a good thing.

Jeffrey Fletcher – Precious – (Based on the novel Push by Sapphire) Precious is set in Harlem. The story centers around an overweight, illiterate teen who is pregnant with her second child, who is invited to enroll in an alternative school in hopes that her life can head in a new direction.

Jason Reitman – Up in the Air – The story centers on a corporate downsizing expert (George Clooney) who travels all over the US in pursuit of more opportunities to fire people. As he approaches the 10-million frequent flyer miles milestone and meets the frequent-flying woman of his dreams (Vera Farmiga), his cherished lifestyle is threatened as his company wants to move him to headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska.

Pictures of Lady Gaga from her 2004 high school yearbook surfaced on the internet today and – surprise, surprise- she looks exceedingly normal in them.  She’s also quite pretty -  something that tends to be overshadowed by her outrageous persona these days.

Apparently Lady Gaga has always been very outgoing and flamboyant but admits to feeling the need to tone it down a bit while she was attending Convent of the Sacred Heart High School in New York City.  People making fun of her outlandish ways made her feel self-conscious.

She freed herself from the shackles of high school soon enough though to pursue her singing career.  According to Wikipedia, for a short time she became a brunette, took drugs and performed in a burlesque show, something that greatly upset her father.  (I wonder why?)  Happily for her fans, after performing for a while at bars around NYC, Lady Gaga got the attention of some record labels and voila, here she is…a major part of the pop culture of 2009.

How do you feel about Lady Gaga?  Me, I’m not so impressed.  She gets a lot of comparisons to Queen ad David Bowie but I’m a big fan of both (especially of Bowie) and I just don’t hear it.  To me, she bears a lot more likeness to Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, the Pussycat Dolls and their ilk.  I guess I’d be more into her stage presence if she had something new to offer musically.

Of course, I may also just be biased against  her because I have an annoying coworker who sing her songs all the time.
